Package and Label Design
A service that uses the PREVENT-ERR® model to create new labels or provide input on label redesigns Contact UsThe design of packages and labels should be multifunctional. Not only pleasing to the eye, they must clearly provide information essential to the proper use of the medication. Using the PREVENT-ERR® model, The Medication Safety Board creates new labels or provides input on redesigns, paying particular attention to the placement of critical information and product differentiation.
We begin the process by collaborating with clients to obtain background information about the product and to discuss the proposed packaging and label. As our team, including designers, works on your package and label designs, we pay particular attention to the clinical environments in which your product may be used. Informed with the clinical characteristics of the product, the product’s setting of use, and any safety or medication error risks or warnings, our design work brings focus and clarity to key design and safety factors, including:
- The overall appearance of the label
- Readability and placement of the product name and other critical information
- Presence of confusing terminology, abbreviations, and other extraneous information
- Visibility and positioning of important information
